Building community is at the heart of what Pecan Street Plumbing is all about. Part of living that out involves seeing and helping neighbors in need and then responding with hands-on support. Though Pecan Street is new, our relationships with the following organizations go back decades.
Pecan Street supports Austin Pathways - HACA’s Scholarship Foundation and the HCV Family Self Sufficiency Program - The HCV FSS Program is a voluntary 5-year program that helps HACA residents achieve their life goals. With the support of their FSS Coordinator, program participants have the opportunity to increase their education, obtain financial management skills, and secure employment. The average increase in annual family earnings from the start of the program to graduation for the 2023 graduating class was $31,373 per year!
In a city of more than one million, known for its active outdoor life, the popular and heavily used trail has more than four million visits a year. The Trail Conservancy was formed to enhance the Trail. TTC has invested more than $13 million in various improvements to this public asset, most notably the Boardwalk on the south side of the lake.
